BC Graduation Assessments Test Grade 12

Free practice for BC Numeracy 10, Literacy 10 and Literacy 12.

Every BC high-school student must complete the Numeracy and Literacy assessments to graduate.

What is on the BC Graduation Assessments in Grade 12?

To graduate from a British Columbia high school, students must complete the Graduation Numeracy Assessment in Grade 10 and the Literacy Assessment in Grade 10, and show literacy progress in Grade 12. Both are marked on BC's scale — Emerging, Developing, Proficient or Extending — rather than as a percentage.

Both assessments are open-response and are spread over more than one sitting. Numeracy asks you to interpret real information and explain your reasoning; Literacy asks you to read several texts and write a considered response. Practising the format — reading, planning, writing and checking — matters more than memorizing content.

Numeracy 10

Interpret data and everyday information, solve multi-step problems and explain your reasoning in writing.

Literacy 10

Read several texts, connect ideas across them, and write a response that uses evidence.

Literacy 12

A longer Grade 12 reading and writing task that shows literacy growth since Grade 10.
