Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test (CCAT)

Free practice questions, test structure and coaching for every question type.

What is on the test?

The CCAT measures reasoning rather than taught curriculum: how a student sees patterns in words, numbers and shapes. Schools across Canada use it for gifted screening and placement — most often in Grade 3 — so questions are short, timed and multiple choice.

There are three batteries: Verbal, Quantitative and Non-verbal. Each is scored separately and combined into a composite, reported as a percentile against students of the same age. Because the test is about reasoning, the best preparation is practising the question styles themselves — exactly what Miso Tutor coaches.

Verbal battery

Verbal classification, verbal analogies and sentence completion — finding relationships between words and ideas.

Quantitative battery

Number series, number equations and quantitative relations — reasoning with numbers rather than long arithmetic.

Non-verbal battery

Figure classification, figure analogies and figure series — solving puzzles made of shapes and pictures, no reading needed.
