New Jersey NJSLA-A Test Grade 3
Free NJSLA practice questions for New Jersey mathematics and English language arts.
New Jersey students take NJSLA-Adaptive in Grades 3–9 for ELA and Grades 3–8 for math.
New Jersey replaced its fixed-form state tests with an adaptive version, NJSLA-Adaptive (NJSLA-A), starting in spring 2026. The test adjusts question difficulty as your child answers, so no two students see the same set of questions.
English language arts is tested from Grade 3 to Grade 9 and mathematics from Grade 3 to Grade 8, with course-based practice in Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II for high-school students. Because the test is adaptive, doing well early matters: the first questions decide which difficulty band the test takes you into.
